Parable of the Fish
One day while on his way to the city, a farmer passed by the village river and heard some faint cries for help. He looked around and discovered a small fish struggling close to the banks of the river, "Help! Mister, please help me. Last night the water had risen and I got trapped here in the mud. The water has subsided and I need to return bank to the river else I will die out here."
The farmer, rubbed his chin, thought for a moment and said, 'Say... I have something I need to attend to now in the city. Why not on my way back, I'll help you get back into the river, little fish."
The little fish gave a sigh and said, "Well, in that case, nevermind, I would have become a salted fish under the scorching sun by the time you are back."
Moral : If you can help a person, do it immediately. It could have made a lot of difference.
